ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a proactive Building Supervisor/Yard Person with proven experience in overseeing daily building operations, including maintenance and facilities management. A solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations is essential.
Required skills and experience:
Good verbal and communication skills
Fully UK Driving licence
Building maintenance and asset management
Facilities operations and space management
Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and compliance
Risk assessment and incident management
Contractor and vendor management
Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
Sustainability and energy management
Good IT literacy skills (MS Office/Excel/Word)
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on individual to take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of our building and surrounding areas, including exterior sample stores, yard, and parking facilities. You will play a key role in supervising on-site building works and ensuring our facilities are maintained to a high standard.
Key activities:
Supervise and organise any building work carried out onsite
Ordering, handling and replacing gases for the laboratory when required
Ordering, handling and replacing solvent drums when required
Liaise with couriers to dispatch samples from the laboratory
Maintaining the sample retention stores in good working order
Assist in sample collections when required
Assisting your line manager in the selection and recruitment of new staff
Liaise with approved waste collection contractors to dispose of samples and other waste produced onsite
Supervise building work carried out on site, ensuring contractors comply with company procedures and the provisions of Health and Safety regulations
