Our Head Office is based in Stockton-on-Tees and is home to our administrative support teams, engineering & maintenance support team & energy services teams. The Offices are located on the river Tees with close access to walks, shops and restaurants.
The Opportunity
We are now recruiting for a Senior Management Accountant.
You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts for assigned divisions and/or client entities
Regular dialogue with and information provision to client management and financial investors
Accountability for the sales and purchase ledger processes (including debt management) for the assigned divisions and/or client entities and oversight of the work of junior team members
Undertaking and overseeing accounting tasks relating to the financial month-end close processes
Accountability for the completion of month end balance sheet reconciliations
Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and, where relevant, half-yearly audited financial statements
Provision of information for statutory and, from time to time, other audits for px
First point of contact and coordinator for the statutory audit of client entities
Treasury management

Minimum Requirements
Fully qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA (or equivalent)
Relevant experience with (including successful contribution to) the following:
o Preparation of monthly management accounts and reports;
o Ad hoc cost and other financial reports;
o Maintaining ledgers;
o Preparing/reviewing reconciliations;
o Variance analysis;
o Cash management & forecasting;
o Preparation and submission of VAT Returns
o Working with and reporting to external clients
o Line management responsibilities
Confidence to work with users of financial information who differ in seniority and may or may not have a financial background
Up-to-date knowledge of basic financial reporting standards and best practice.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Confidence to use a variety of computerised accounting, banking and data management systems.
